All of our staff are required to adhere to / observe the following EGTC mission & values, & safety procedures:
E.G.T.C aims and objectives
As a club we aim to provide a safe, happy and structured environment for children to learn and enjoy gymnastics. To achieve this we work around a child structured philosophy, so they can feel secure in our care and enjoy what we teach them. In addition to improving gymnastics and trampoline skills we aim to embrace other areas of children’s development including social skills, creativity and imagination, co-ordination, flexibility, agility, endurance, speed, strength, balance and emotional independence.
Values
The coach owes a duty of care to the children in the group. There are inherent risks associated with the sport of gymnastics and trampoline, however these are minimized by attending relevant courses and gaining qualifications, good supervision of the group, good health and safety practice within the set up of equipment and implementing good coaching practices and a safe training environment
New children/ settling in
For the 9:00, 9:45 and 1:00 sessions we ask that the parents/ carers to stay in the Rainbow centre. During your child’s first 2 visits we allow parents/ carers to stay in the hall for the Childs reassurance ( and parents) on the 3rd session we would ask you to watch from the viewing window, as it may distract the child during their lesson. If there is a reason why you need to come in please come in and discuss it with a coach.
Our lessons
We start with a 10 minute warm up then the children are put into groups with their coach. They will use 4 pieces of equipment each week.
Every week: Floor, Vault
Alternate weeks: Bars, Beam, Trampoline, Mini trampette
During these sessions the children will be working towards a level badge and certificate (please see memo board or web site). If you have an enquiry about your Childs progress please come in and see a member of staff. It may not be possible to talk to your Childs coach as they have other duties to attend to after each class is over.
